Going down Fleet Road southbound I notice there are now “no
through road except buses” signs before the “no entry except buses” signs are
reached at Jenkins Lane. I don’t know whether these are additional to or
replacement for the previous no entry signs, but either is bad. As my thousands of regular readers will know I have bought up the issue of the restriction on cyclists here several
times over several years. I don’t know why it persists and regard it as a clear indication
of lack of consideration for cycling.

The road to nowhere
It's all built, signs in place (no entry except buses, still!), but blocked by big concrete blocks at Jenkins Lane, and the gate approx across the Newham / B&D border, under which is a heap of broken bricks to stop people getting underneath.
Years of waiting will come to an end soon - ?

The road to nowhere
The only thing apparently stopping the road to nowhere (from Town Quay to Jenkins Lane, alongside A406) is the site gate which was still locked across the road. The development seems to be finished and the road doesn't have the protrusion into it that was previously there. The 'No entry except buses' signs are still there.
There is a site fence across the riverside path, but the completed path can be seen through it going for some yards. I can't remember if this was there before the site was fenced off for the new development.

The road to nowhere
The "road to nowhere" (see blogs passim) has now been blocked of as part of a new develpment at Muirhead Quay - currently just a level site. Perhaps the little protuberance from the development site itself into the road that meant altermate working with give way in that bit of road will be removed.
